good decision friday

This past Friday night started with getting off work early. Nice. We decided to attend the matinee of The Fighter in order to avoid the Friday night movie crowd. A random person handed us a popcorn bowl on their way out, you know the one you get unlimited refills with? Maybe it's gross to you, but free popcorn is free popcorn. The Fighter was definitely one of the top movies I've seen this year, and may end up being one of my favorite sports movies. The actors were incredible at really inhabiting their characters, and I appreciated the director's efforts to really portray the community without any glisten or glamour... at all. Overall the film came across as very real and I loved it!!

Afterwards we walked around Temple Square to see all the beautiful Christmas lights. We followed the advice of our native Salt Lake friends and went to Blue Lemon on the south side of Temple Square and really loved it! We spent a while there talking and reminiscing on good friends and good memories. Life never seems to work out the way we expect it to, but I am grateful for the lessons and the people I've met along the way.
