day 4
this was christmas eve, so most places were closing early. we visited the pantheon, capitoline museums, and the monumente nazionale. that night we went back to st. peter's square to watch midnight mass with the pope.

the pantheon was amazing, way cooler than i thought it would be. am i the only one who didn't know raphael was buried there? it was awesome paying homage after learning so much about him and his paintings at the vatican museums.
lights strung across every street :) less cool were all the souvenir vendors and people selling selfie sticks... "selfie-selfie-selfie!" but, you win some, you lose some.
